A beautiful show home in idyllic surroundings

A beautiful show home in idyllic surroundings Tranquil colours, tantalisingly inviting furnishings and charming colour schemes spotlight the potential of Redrow’s beautiful new show home in Winkleigh, Devon. Buyers will be able to experience the reality of living at the Winkleigh Cross development first-hand when they view the four-bedroom, three-storey family home, which has been designed to fuel the imagination of homebuyers.

Located in mid-Devon, the Redrow development is surrounded by beautiful countryside and woodlands. Fashioned to reflect the development’s impressive surroundings, the new show home echoes the idyllic village life of Winkleigh.

Soft traditional colours have been used to bring the feel of the fresh outdoors inside. Throughout the ‘Walkham’ style house there is a calm, slightly oriental feel, with use of green, blue and black against more neutral colours. The presence of Buddha head figures reflects the oriental theme and again pursues the idea of a relaxed, serene family home.

The use of the black, green and blue against a white backdrop works brilliantly and really exposes the great possibilities of the detached Walkham house type.

The spacious lounge radiates comfort, from its rich, mahogany finish furniture to its plush, inviting three-seater sofa. While the monochrome master bedroom, with its crisp white bed linen and sharp black mirror bedside tables, is the epitome of chic. This contrasts with the return to the soft blue and green cushion fabrics set against white walls and furniture found in bedroom two.

On the third floor of the house are two more sizeable bedrooms. Bedroom three’s day bed brilliantly illustrates the versatility a three-storey home provides.

Hannah Newnes, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South West), said: “The third floor provides flexible, extra space, ideal for a number of uses, from home office to guest room.

“The whole house has been designed to get buyers’ imaginations soaring, showing that this highly desirable property is ideal for families looking for room and comfort, while also appealing to young professionals who appreciate some space around them.”

Although based on the footprint of standard Redrow house types the exterior of the homes at Winkleigh Cross are bespoke to the location with traditional rendered elevations typical of Devon.

As well as ‘Walkham’ homes, like the show home, Redrow also has three-storey four bedroom ‘Ouse’ and ‘Ribble’ style homes available from £232,995.

Hannah added: “The Ouse and Ribble homes have all the benefits of flexible three-storey living, which is a contemporary solution to modern day life. Those who have bought a three-storey home from Redrow have used their extra floor space in various ways. Many have used the opportunity to give teenagers and older children their own space and independence, which can be difficult to do in the traditional two-storey home.”

For those thinking of relocating, the village of Winkleigh has much to offer, including a post office, primary school, leisure centre and small supermarket. The towns of Crediton, Torrington and Okehampton are all less than 15 miles away and boast theatres, traditional markets and leisure centres. Dartmoor National Park is less than 15 miles from Winkleigh and the coast can be reached in just over an hour.

Winkleigh benefits from easy road links to the A386 and the A377 leading to Exeter, Barnstaple and the M5 to Weston-Super-Mare and beyond. Okehampton Railway station runs regular trains to Exeter and links to the main city lines.
