More for your money at Barratt’s out of town development

“We had no plans to move, but the flyer gave details of Barratt’s Norbury style house, which was much cheaper than similar homes in Exeter, so we decided to ring the site negotiator,” Emma explained.
“Nathan and I are ‘key workers’ - I’m a nurse and he works for the government – and we qualified for Barratt’s Dream Start package, which meant that we only had to get a mortgage for 75 per cent of the full asking price. We were really thrilled when we realised we would be able to afford a Norbury.
“It’s great to have so much extra space and a garden, and it’s the first place I’ve lived in that really feels like home,” Emma continued. “It’s an ideal move for us, as we are expecting our first baby in May and there are excellent maternity facilities close by.”
The Norbury is a three-storey townhouse offering spacious and flexible accommodation. This includes three double bedrooms (one en-suite), a downstairs cloakroom, kitchen with breakfasting area and lounge/dining room.
Barratt field sales manager Mary Daymond, stressed that out of town developments offer better value for money.
“In Exeter, the Norbury has an asking price of £249,950 – that’s £40,000 more than the asking price at Broome Park – and we can offer a variety of buyer incentives, from the Dream Start package to part exchange,” she said.
“Also, residents at our Okehampton site can enjoy a better quality of life – many of the homes enjoy spectacular views of surrounding countryside and yet all the amenities are close by – including schools, restaurants and a sports centre.”
Emma added: “Nathan and I both work in the centre of Exeter but the development is near to the A30 and it takes just over half an hour to get to work. It’s great to leave the city at the end of the day and drive home to a house in the countryside.”
Current availability at Broome Park includes a selection of three and four-bedroom houses and prices range from £194,500 to £311,000
