“The scheme is excellent and it’s given me an opportunity to own a home of my own,” said Chloe. “The buying process was very quick and efficient, and the Barratt sales team was very helpful, so I’m very pleased with my purchase.

“My apartment is lovely and spacious. I have a lounge/diner, kitchen, bathroom and two double bedrooms. Carpets were included in the price and there is a parking space outside.

“I used to live on the outskirts of town and moving to Torre Marine has really opened up my social life,” Chloe continued. “I’m much closer to all the amenities and there are lots of young people living in my block. I’ve also discovered that a friend from school has bought an apartment just a few doors away from me, which is great.”

Barratt has recently secured new funding for the First Time Buyer Initiative scheme at Torre Marine. This government-backed initiative was introduced to make it easier for first-time buyers and key workers to get a foot on the property ladder.

People who take advantage of the scheme can buy 100 per cent of a new property for just 50 per cent of the purchase price, with the remainder being paid back after 10 years.

At Torre Marine, prices for new homes sold through this scheme start from as little as £124,000, making them highly accessible to first-time buyers who thought it would be impossible to buy in today’s economic climate.
