Plymouth’s ambitions boost local property market

Plymouth’s ambitions boost local property market Plans for a new railway station and electric streetcar system together with a bid for World Cup football are giving the local property market in Plymouth a welcome boost.

Mary Daymond from Barratt, which is nearing completion at its Panorama development in the city, said that this confidence and forward thinking means that buyers have even more reason to move within the city boundaries.

“Panorama has been hugely popular with those moving just a few miles and latest investment plans are set to boost this trend,’’ she said. “The new transport plans will boost links within the city and beyond and the bid to host World Cup games should England be selected as host nation in 2018 are ambitious but show the character of the city.”

She said the number of local buyers at Panorama illustrates how much Plymouth people want to remain in the city, whether they are looking to buy their first home or move up the housing ladder.

“We have been successful in attracting a wide range of local buyers and with just a handful of homes left we are expecting more locals to take advantage of a short move,’’ said Mary.

“We are putting the final touches to Panorama where building work is almost complete and the community is really taking shape,’’ said Mary.

Barratt has just two three bedroom homes for sale now, a Sutton and an Eskdale and the Sutton has great views over the River Plym in the distance.

The Sutton townhouse is priced at £207,000 and has an integral garage, utility room and study/bedroom on the ground floor. There is a spacious lounge and kitchen/dining area on the first floor, and two bedrooms and a bathroom on the top floor.

The Eskdale design is a three bedroom home priced at £197,950. It has two double bedrooms, the master with ensuite facilities and one single bedroom together with a spacious and light dual aspect lounge, separate dining room and contemporary fitted units in the kitchen.

Panorama is a cul-de-sac development of two-bedroom apartments and two and three-bedroom houses. It lies close to the city centre and there is easy access to the mainline railway station, a park and ride bus service, the A38 into Cornwall and Plymouth City Airport.
