First time buyers get a head start in Okehampton First time buyers in Okehampton are being given a boost onto the housing ladder with Barratt’s Head Start scheme. The deal is available on the final homes at the Broome Park development and all are three bedroom properties.

Under Head Start, first-time buyers secure a mortgage for 85 per cent of the total property price and Barratt finances the remaining 15 per cent for up to 10 years.

“First time buyers are still facing many obstacles in becoming home owners and Barratt’s Head Start scheme is tailored exclusively to help these people get on the property ladder,” said sales manager Mary Daymond.

The remaining homes at the development are priced from £184,950 and with Head Start you need to secure a mortgage for £157,207 with Barratt financing the remainder initially.

Broome Park is well located on the outskirts of the historic market town of Okehampton, close to the A30 and within easy commuting distance of Exeter.

Dartmoor National Park, just a short drive away, is renowned for its flora and fauna, ponies and summer folk festival. Its popular family attractions include Widecombe in the Moor and the Becky Falls woodland park.
