Miller reports fast sales of Letchworth apartments

12th July 2007 Print
Typical house at Letchworth Apartment living is on the increase, with more and more young couples, executives and downsizers opting to move out of houses and into apartments. It is not surprising then, that half of the brand new apartments in phase one of Miller’s development in Letchworth have already sold.

Miller is building a selection of 53 new homes and apartments just off Norton Road on the site of Norton School, which closed in 2002. The development will be a mixture of brand new homes combined with the sensitive conversion of some of the existing school buildings.

Phase one consists of 10 two-bedroom new apartments, which are being built in two blocks. Scholars Lodge is home to four spacious apartments and Principals Lodge is home to the remaining six apartments. French doors on the ground floor and French windows on the upper floors ensure that all rooms are flooded with natural light.

As with all Miller homes, the apartments have been finished to the highest standard. Kitchens have a stainless steel chimney hood, splashback and 4-ring gas hob as well as an integrated fridge freezer and dishwasher. Bathrooms and en suites are fitted with white sanitaryware and chrome tap mixers and vinyl flooring. Apartments also benefit from private parking as well as a secure audio entry system.

Miller Homes, 2007 Housebuilder of the Year, acquired the land at Letchworth in 2006. The site is on the desirable Norton Road, close to a Post Office and within walking distance of Letchworth town centre. Letchworth, the world’s first Garden Centre, boasts a number of amenities including a theatre, leisure centre, cinema, shopping centre and hospital.
