Intro Homes launches Vincent Place in Stevenage Intro Homes is bringing a collection of homes to Stevenage that offers first time buyers the chance to get on the property ladder in the most sought after Old Town area.

Vincent Place is the transformation of the former B&Q site, located towards the southern end of the prestigious old town high street, into a collection of 109 one and two bedroom apartments. Stevenage Old Town has a combination of history and character with a buzzing and vibrant high street that boasts both contemporary and traditional shopping facilities, along with historic buildings, coaching inns, wine bars, pubs and restaurants.

In the old town centre of Stevenage, next to St. Nicholas Church, there is a parochial house called Rooksnest which became the setting in Edward Morgan Forster’s novel Howards End. Also close to Stevenage is Knebworth House, a red-brick Tudor manor house with gothic features and is best known for its open-air rock concerts.

Purchasers at Vincent Place are being offered a choice of properties that include 1 and 2 bed apartments and 1 and 2 bed duplexes, with the majority of the two bed apartments offering ensuite facilities to the master bedroom, making them ideal for sharers. Sizes range in size between 480 and an amazing 1080 sq ft and each apartment comes with its own parking space. Many residents will also benefit from balconies.

The development has been named after Vincent HRD Motorcycles. In 1928, Philip Vincent bought the HRD Motorcycle Company, moved it to Stevenage and renamed it. He produced some of the UK’s most legendary motorcycles, including the Black Shadow and Black Lightning.

The modern interior specification is in keeping with the design of the building and purchasers will benefit from a choice of stylish kitchens complete with appliances including stainless steel ceramic electric hob, electric oven and washer/dryer as well as wall tiling and vinyl tile flooring. Those purchasers who get in early may also have the opportunity to upgrade the kitchen into a fully integrated one that would include fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

The development is situated just minutes from Stevenage Railway Station. A direct train to London King’s Cross takes only 23 minutes. Jon Denny, Sales & Marketing Director at Intro Homes commented:

“We are thrilled to be bringing Vincent Place to Stevenage. The development is in a very unique location within the historic Old Town setting of Stevenage and will offer affordable properties, in some cases below the Stamp Duty threshold, in a prime area. We expect Vincent Place to be popular with (but not limited to) first time buyers and young professionals commuting in to Central London, looking for a semi-rural location that still offers all the advantages and features of a large, modern town.”

Prices currently start from £169,995 with the first completions planned for late 2008/early 2009. To register your interest, visit Introhomes.co.uk.
