Stevenage development wins county award

Entries were judged by a panel of independent professionals, chaired by Eric Pickles, British Shadow Secretary of State. Judges included Peter Bolton King, chief executive of the National Association of Estate Agents, and Phil Spencer, property expert and presenter of Channel 4’s Location and Relocation TV shows.
Jeremy Marcus, Sales and Marketing Director at Higgins Homes, comments: “This is a fantastic achievement for Higgins Homes and testament to the importance the company places on design and build quality. Ice is a flagship development for the company and we are very proud to have our hard work and innovative ideas acknowledged by such prestigious awards.”
ICE comprises 238 contemporary one, two and three bedroom apartments and penthouses. The iconic sweeping architectural design dominates the urban landscape. It incorporates extensive glazing, staggered roofing and sleek curved finishes. Internally each apartment offers designer kitchens by Urban Myth, fitted with Smeg appliances, including a stainless steel electric oven, a ceramic hob, an integrated fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. Most apartments have either a balcony or patio and every apartment comes with a parking space in the underground car park.
ICE is located near the centre of Stevenage Old Town, which has a range of independent boutique shops, cafes and restaurants. Stevenage mainline railway station is under half a mile away from the development and from there, trains to St Pancras take just 30 minutes.*
The Step Up initiative, which is available at Ice, allows purchasers to buy 100% of their new property for just 75% of the cost. It is a fantastic option for first time buyers as Higgins Homes will in effect loan them 25% of the value of their property for up to 10 years. Purchasers can then either buy back the 25% share from Higgins Homes at the market price at any time during the 10-year period. Or, if the purchaser sells their property during the 10-year period, pay the 25% back to Higgins Homes at the market price current at the time. There is also no rent to pay on the loan.
Prices at ICE start from £169,950 (or £127,462 using the Step Up scheme) for a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment with balcony and underground parking space. The sales and marketing suite and three show apartments are open daily between 10am and 5pm. For further information, log on to Higginshomes.co.uk.
