Kebbell helps keep Wheathampstead tidy

Watford-based housebuilder Kebbell Homes got down and dirty with Wheathampstead residents recently in support of a community litter pick. Known locally as ‘The Litterblitz', the team of around a dozen 17 to 80 year olds welcomed the housebuilder's Sales Manager, Jose Howell to the event which takes place every other month.

The group collect rubbish from around the village in a bid to keep it clean and tidy, separating out all the recyclables and this particular outing was their 50th since the group began in 2004.

With equipment provided by the District Council and insurance covered by the Parish Council, the event is a real community effort and this milestone Litterblitz started in style with coffee and biscuits at The Nelson courtesy of Kebbell Homes.

Kebbell Homes is currently marketing a development of family homes called Meadow Mead on Meads Lane in Wheathampstead.

Jose Howell, Sales Manager at Kebbell Homes said, "We first heard about The Litterblitz after spotting an advertisement calling for volunteers during our initial research into the village. This event, combined with other examples of Wheathampstead's active and engaged community gave us great confidence that the village was a desirable place to live.

"And certainly since we started work on our development we have enjoyed a very warm welcome from all the local residents. We were delighted when the group invited me to join them and pleased to be able to contribute to keeping the village tidy."

The Litterblitz support comes after Kebbell Homes donated £1000 towards the restoration of the local WI meeting hall.
