Calling all first time buyers in Hitchin

Weston Homes will be holding an open day at their New Mercia development in Hitchin, Hertfordshire on Saturday 15th November, in conjunction with local housing association Lea Valley Homes to help buyers get on to the property ladder.

The open day, which will take place at New Mercia between 10am and 4pm, will give people the chance to speak to representatives from Weston Homes, Lea Valley Homes and the selling agent Connells about the Governments MyChoiceHomeBuy scheme, as well as take a guided tour around the show apartment and reserve a property on the day, if they wish.

"This is a very exciting opportunity for, in particular, first time buyers, who are considering buying a new home but are worried about the financial aspects. Experts will be available throughout the day to discuss how MyChoiceHomeBuy works and if you may be eligible for the scheme", says Connells New Homes Manager, Lisa Shiell.

MyChoice HomeBuy provides applicants with up to 50% of the value of the property they want to buy in the form of an equity loan. There is a low rate of interest payable on this part of the loan. The remainder is funded through a conventional mortgage. No deposit from the applicants is required, although it is allowed.
