Sales success for Persimmon in Maple Cross

6th April 2009 Print
Sales success for Persimmon in Maple Cross Property developer Persimmon Homes Thames Valley has reported that its popular West Point development in the attractive location of Maple Cross is going from strength to strength as the developer has now sold over 80 per cent of the site.

Sharon Eldred, sales manager for Persimmon Homes Thames Valley, states: “We’re selling ahead of schedule and have even sold the showhome at the development. This figure demonstrates that despite the fact that many househunters are facing increased financial constraints due to the obstacles involved with obtaining a mortgage, our competitively priced homes mean that purchasers are still able to move house comfortably with Persimmon.”

The development currently has available a small selection of two and three bedroom homes and prices start from just £234,950 for a two bedroom mid terraced home with two parking spaces. And for those looking to move with a household income less than £60,000, they are eligible for the Government-led 70 per cent shared equity HomeBuy Direct scheme.

Under the initiative, househunters will only be required to raise funding for 70 per cent of the purchase price including a mortgage plus any small deposit. The remaining 30 per cent is made up by an equity loan which is co-funded by the Government and Persimmon Homes.

Sharon concludes: “The HomeBuy Direct scheme is a boost for the housing sector in general and is sure to come as welcome news amongst potential purchasers at our prestigious West Point development.”
