Postie collects a new home on his round

Postman Richard Lloyd is used to making deliveries on his Kington round but he recently made a rather unusual collection in the village – of a new home. Richard watched Bryant Homes’ Morgans Orchard development gradually take shape as he delivered letters and parcels to homes in the historic town.

After completing his round one day he decided to go and look at the plans.

Richard, 40, said: “I was living in a flat in the village but I really missed having a garden and so when I saw the homes being built at Morgans Orchard I decided to go and see what was on offer. As I visited in the very early stages of development there wasn’t much to see but the advantage was that I got the pick of the plots. As soon as I saw the size of the gardens I decided to reserve a home.

“I am so happy here – I have wonderful views of the golf course from my lounge window, the neighbours are lovely and my friends and family are all nearby.”

Richard added: “Kington is such a wonderful, friendly community that I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. I grew up in the region and used to work on my family’s farm before I became a postman. The other big attraction was that I love being outdoors and the development is surrounded by countryside which is perfect. I really enjoy coming home in the afternoon, putting my feet up with a cup of tea and admiring the beautiful views.”
