Looking to the future at Hornbeams

The quality of life in the suburbs has always been recognised as offering better value for money as well as more green space and an improved feeling of well being. Paul Mayhew and Victoria Hart have good reason to know this to be true.

They are planning their wedding in December and have just bought a luxury four-bedroom house at Hornbeams, a development by David Wilson Homes in the new village of Priors Green in Takeley, five miles from Bishop’s Stortford.

The interior design company where Paul works as a Contract Director is just five miles away. Victoria works at another interior design company as a sales executive, she travels extensively in her job so finds it helpful that the M11 is within easy reach. If they want to take the train into central London, there are very regular 45-minute services from nearby Stansted airport.

Prior’s Green offers a relaxed rural lifestyle and is developing into a new community with plans for a village centre, shops and community centre. Just a few miles away, Bishop’s Stortford has excellent facilities for shopping, dining and entertainment.

Paul and Victoria’s large semi-detached house has many benefits. Arranged over three floors, it provides plenty of space and privacy. On the ground floor, there is a large living room, with a spacious kitchen and breakfast room which features French doors which open out to the garden. On the first floor, there are three bedrooms, one of which is en suite, and a family bathroom. The master bedroom with en suite occupies the entire top floor of the house.

Victoria comments: “We love having so much space in the house and our large drive adds to the feeling of spaciousness.” In addition to its own detached garage, there is plenty of room to park cars on the drive.

David Wilson Homes has a range of incentives to help buyers in all situations, including payment towards the five per cent deposit or Head Start, which allows purchasers to pay just 85 per cent of the price; the remaining 15 per cent is an interest free loan for repayment within ten years.
