New Land Director for Redrow in Scotland

30th July 2007 Print
With 20 years of experience in the building and housing sector – and even a stint as a giraffe keeper - David Wallace, Redrow’s new land director in Scotland is sure to make his mark on the company.

Following degrees in both Architecture and Urban and Regional planning, David spent time as both an architect in the public and private sectors, as well as being principal planner for various local authorities, including Clydesdale, Lanark and Perth & Kinross, and working at what is now Homes for Scotland.

After taking the step into the new homes industry, he has worked for several major house builders, including Wimpey and Barratt, and spent seven years as managing director of Stewart Milne Homes across Scotland’s central belt. To top it off, he has also worked as a bar manager, giraffe keeper and assistant mortician!

On his move to Redrow he says: “I wouldn’t have gone to any other plc house builder – there is enormous potential to build Redrow up in Scotland and I was happy to come to an organisation that is looking to the future and expanding its geographical boundaries and product range.”

Colin Crombie, managing director for Redrow Homes (Scotland) says: “We’re extremely pleased David chose to join us at such an exciting time in our company. He brings with him a wealth of experience and authority and he is going to be a key force in driving Redrow forward in Scotland. We’re currently expanding into new areas with our first scheme in Perthshire, at Aberuthven, and we’ve also just launched a major new project at Braehead.”

In his spare time, David, who lives in Edinburgh, enjoys golf and spending time with his five grandchildren.
