Housing Assocation uses YouTube to reach struggling homebuyers
Thames Valley Housing is aware that buying a house through the HomeBuy schemes can sometimes be complex and confusing so, along with some happy purchasers, the housing association has created a two-and-a-half minute video clip and loaded it to the popular video sharing website, youtube.co.uk.Dayton Rogers, Home Ownership sales and marketing manager at Thames Valley Housing, says, “We wanted to make HomeBuy as accessible and easy to understand as possible and to reach a different group of people than a lot of conventional mediums would. The response so far has been very positive and we are now making more videos as a way of marketing individual properties and schemes to struggling homebuyers.”
The video highlights how easy these programmes are by interviewing some of Thames Valley Housing’s successful house buyers. The basics of HomeBuy are also explained, including what the schemes are, who is eligible and how to get started along with the area in which Thames Valley Housing operates.
