Special kitchens for indulgent home owners When it comes to turning a house into a home, it seems the kitchen is top of our priorities for investing time, energy and cash to create a room that’s the heart of family life – and the envy of all our friends.

Award winning housebuilder Redrow has just analysed customers’ choices from its ‘Indulge with Redrow’ specification and found that three of the top 10 optional extras focused on kitchen upgrades.

Top choice was integrated kitchen appliances followed by an upgrade to one of Redrow’s top-of-the-range luxury kitchen finishes. Installation of down-lighters in the kitchen was also a popular choice, in fourth place.

Simon Bennett, Redrow’s group marketing director says: “It’s true to say that the kitchen is the nucleus of most family homes, a place where families come together not only to eat but to talk and socialise.

“We design our kitchens with this in mind, incorporating breakfast or seating areas as much as possible and sometimes with family areas alongside, where children can play safely under their parents’ supervision.

“On every development we offer a good choice of kitchen cabinets and worktop finishes, from the traditional to the modern, plus splash-back tiling and vinyl flooring. Many customers though are taking this to the next level by choosing to upgrade to our top-of-the range kitchens with fully integrated appliances, granite worktops, ceramic floortiles and downlighters, proving that the kitchen is most definitely the heart of the home.”

Other popular choices from ‘Indulge with Redrow’ over the last six months have included fully tiled bathrooms, luxury bathroom fittings, carpets throughout the home, a burglar alarm and additional fitted wardrobes from the wide range available.

The extensive choices and upgrades selection allows Redrow customers to personalise their home in lots of ways, from taps and tiling, to a range of traditional and contemporary fireplaces, polished or brushed chrome switchplates, alternative doors and handles, plus extra TV and phone points, to name a few.

Those concerned about climate change can also choose from a range of measures to help them reduce the environmental impact of their new home. With optional extras such as kitchen waste segregation, tap flow restrictors, solar collectors, low energy lighting and advanced heating controls, Redrow is making it easy for home owners to go green and save money too.
