Eco-friendly Miller Homes site at Upton Green

18th April 2007 Print
Keith Miller Miller Homes Group Chief Executive, Keith Miller, took time out from his hectic schedule to visit the Upton Green development in Northampton last week to see for himself why the eco-friendly development is such a hit with purchasers.

Keith, who has worked for Miller since 1975, visited the site at the start of the month to see for himself what all the fuss was about.

Keith, who is based in Miller’s Edinburgh office, commented: “The environment is at the top of a lot of people’s mind at the moment and it was nice to take a tour of Upton Green and see all of the eco-friendly features the development has.

“I was impressed with the solar collectors on the slope roofs and I think a lot of people will be surprised to hear they operate in daylight and not just sunlight! Each house also has a rainwater harvesting system enabling homeowners to use the collected and stored water for useful day to day jobs such as watering the garden and washing their cars – which will be ideal in the summer months when nationally, water supply is limited.”

“A recent survey found that 82 per cent of buyers rate environmentally-friendly features ahead of attic rooms, period features and walk-in wardrobes and I think that when buyers look at Upton Green they will be impressed with how eco-friendly the development actually is.”

Upton Green is an attractive eco-friendly development which has been designed to combine exceptionally high standards of energy efficiency with a village ambiance. It is located just a short walk from Sixfields Leisure Park, three miles away from Northampton town centre and close to the M1 motorway.
