Three storey living wins again

And like many home buyers now, Anna and James scoured the internet in search of their dream home, and settled on a fabulous three-storey design in Corby, Northamptonshire.
James, a mechanical engineer from Colchester, says: “We wanted a home with lots of space and openness without the worry of having to knock walls through - and when we saw the Lambourne at Redrow’s Oakley Vale development, we realised the space we wanted was already there! It’s perfect.”
It is not just the extra space provided by the three-storey Lambourne that holds so much appeal for the couple. Anna, also an engineer, works in Warwick and has to make the commute every day.
James explains: “The location of Oakley Vale is great as Corby has excellent commuter links and Birmingham is just over an hour’s drive from our new home.”
The three-bedroom Lambourne is a house with a difference. This ‘room in the roof’ home offers buyers an alternative housing experience as the extra space provided by the ready made loft conversion allows for home buyers to really use their imagination.
The layout of the Lambourne offers everything expected of a three-storey property-and more. Downstairs is home to a large lounge/dining room, which boasts French doors onto the rear garden, as well as the fully fitted kitchen and a cloakroom.
The first floor features bedrooms two and three, plus the family bathroom.
However it’s in the roof space where homebuyers will find this property’s most impressive asset, for this area is home to a luxurious master bedroom complete with optional fitted wardrobes and an en-suite shower room.
James adds: “It’s great being able to spread out over three floors. We’ve always loved the three-storey design. It is amazing how much difference an extra floor can make. We would recommend it to anyone.”
Heather Jackson, sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), says: “The additional space provided by this traditional house type means home buyers can stretch their imagination to make way for the kids’ domain in a family home, or a ‘guest suite’, where visitors can have the first floor to themselves. The possibilities really are endless.”
Redrow @ Oakley Vale will be a 141-home venture featuring a collection of one, two, three, four and five-bedroom homes that will hold appeal for people from all walks of life. Redrow is one of several developers on this large scale regeneration development which is set to comprise almost 3,000 new homes, and already features its own shopping precinct and primary schools as well as large areas of open spaces.
Commuters will benefit from easy access to the motorway network and major A-roads, providing links to the cities of Leicester, Peterborough and Northampton and beyond, while train links from nearby Kettering station provide journey times to London St Pancras of just over an hour.
Corby itself offers a range of amenities such as shops and places to eat however the main shopping areas of Milton Keynes and Northampton are both around half an hour’s drive from the development.
Properties currently available at Redrow @ Oakley Vale include the four-bedroom Lea, priced from £189,995, and the four-bedroom Walkham priced from £249,995. For further information, visit redrow.co.uk.
