Lee’s team at Persimmon Homes’ Crispin’s Walk development in Northampton downed tools for all the right reasons when they were joined by colleagues from Persimmon’s regional office to celebrate his win with an onsite presentation.

One of just 400 site managers nationwide to receive the Quality Award accolade, Lee was awarded the prize for his work at Crispin’s Walk, where he is currently overseeing the construction of 144 new homes.

Don Mason, construction director for Persimmon Homes Midlands presented Lee with his Quality Award and commented: “It is fantastic to see one of our site managers being recognised for the dedication and expertise which is vital to ensuring all of our homes are built to the high standard upon which we have built our reputation. Competing against 15,000 other site managers nationwide, it is no small achievement to receive a Quality Award, and Lee has worked extremely hard to consistently maintain the outstanding standard of work required to win one of these awards.

“Lee’s combination of excellent craftsmanship and fantastic leadership skills makes him an invaluable member of our team and all of his colleagues were delighted to witness him receiving his award at the site presentation.”

Lee will now go forward to compete in the next round of the Pride in the Job awards for a Top 100 Seal of Excellence Award and a Regional Award. The competition reaches its climax in January 2008 when the UK's three overall Supreme winners will be announced at a Gala Awards ceremony in London.

Now in its 27th year, NHBC's Pride in the Job is the only national competition to focus on the contribution the site manager makes in producing high quality new homes. Over 18,000 site managers are entered into the awards and each are assessed across 38 aspects of site management, including technical knowledge, consistency in the build process and leadership and organisational skills.

Persimmon Homes Midlands is one of the 25 operating companies of Persimmon Homes Plc. The region currently has developments in Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire.
