Helping hand from magical Mastermove

The stress of buying a new home can sometimes overshadow the excitement of moving into that perfect property, but one award-winning house builder has got the answer to lift the weight from the buyer’s shoulders.

Redrow’s Mastermove scheme allows buyers to ‘hold’ their dream home for up to four weeks while the house builder pursues a targeted action plan for the sale of the previous house – all for the minimum fee of £50. Once the house has been sold, Redrow will then pay the estate agent’s fees, and refund the £50 Mastermove fee.

One couple who have benefited from the scheme are Don and Chris Cooke, who live at Redrow @ The Grange in Desborough. Chris says: “We found it really helpful and very good to use. Everyone at Redrow was really great and kept on top of what they needed to do – they rang us with weekly updates about our home and were always at the end of the phone whenever we needed them, which is much easier than having to chase an estate agent for answers. It is definitely something I would recommend other people to use.”

Chris and Don moved to The Grange from Hemel Hempstead, in order to downsize after their retirement and be closer to daughter Debbie. Chris continues: “We had been in the old house for about 15 years so it was a big decision for us to move but we thought that with our retirement approaching we should think about downsizing, but the area we lived in was far too expensive. Debbie suggested The Grange, as it is right down the road from where she lives in Market Harborough and was much better value for money.

“We have actually ended up in a four-bedroom home. We had so much stuff because of the size of the old house and we’ve used one of the other bedrooms as a guest room and will soon use one of the others as a study. The people around here are really friendly and overall we’re really enjoying being in our new home.”
