Mawsley Village wins New Homes Award George Wimpey East Midlands has scooped a prestigious top prize at the Daily Telegraph Your New Homes Awards 2008. The leading housebuilder won the Best New Build Village category for Mawsley Village, its brand new community development near Kettering.

Recognising the very best homebuilding standards, the Your New Home awards look at the benefits homes and communities provide for the people who live in them.

The judges felt that George Wimpey is creating a unique community and were impressed by the way it is evolving in consultation with local people to include a range of amenities, including a school, a shop, sports facilities, a pub and playing fields – and that the entire development recreates the look and feel of a traditional Northamptonshire village.

After receiving the award at the London ceremony, Bill Metcalfe, Project Manager for George Wimpey East Midlands, said: “Building good homes is one thing; creating a new community is another.

“George Wimpey has done both at Mawsley Village – there’s a good mix of homes, footpaths, cycleways and a lake, plus a subsidised bus service. And now the development has a shop, a new primary school and a community centre, making Mawsley a place that really can be called home.”

A range of apartments and three and four bedroom homes are currently available at the development, priced from £137,995.

Mawsley Village is located in open countryside just two miles from Kettering and 15 minutes from Northampton by road.

Further information is available by visiting the development, located by following signs from the A43 south-west of Kettering, and open daily from 10.30am to 5.30pm.

Alternatively, information on George Wimpey developments across the region is available by visiting the web site at Georgewimpey.co.uk.
