John and Jackie celebrate a new era with a new home John and Jackie Asbrey enjoyed 36 years of family life in their George Wimpey home at Kettering in Northamptonshire and so when the time came to move they chose a brand new house - at the leading housebuilder's newest local development.

While the couple settled in to their new place at the Seagrave Manor development in Barton Seagrave, their old three-bedroom family property in St John's Road, Kettering was a real home-from-home for its next purchaser - their 29-year-old son, Kevin.

John and Jackie, both 60, chose a four-bedroom ‘Cresswell' housetype, and moved with their two other sons, Mark (30) and Ian (29) just before Christmas.

"We always liked living in our old house, but we are getting older and thought this might be a last opportunity for us to move," said Jackie, who like her husband is a warehouse operative for the courier firm, DHL.

"I have always wanted a four bedroom house and the ‘Cresswell' has a lovely garden which I can enjoy."

The generous outdoor space, additional bedroom and beautiful living accommodation mean John and Jackie have extra space for when three-year-old grandson Riley comes to visit.

The Asbrey's detached, double-fronted ‘Cresswell' - also open as a showhome at the development and a style of home that's available to purchase right now at Seagrave Manor - is characterised by a large kitchen with plenty of space for family meals and French doors to the garden, a formal dining room, a lounge which also has doors opening to the garden, a study and a cloakroom off the entrance hallway.

Upstairs, the landing leads to the four bedrooms - two enjoying en-suite facilities - and a main bathroom.

Like all new homes at the development, the ‘Cresswell' is part of the leading housebuilder's Country House range and enjoys a high standard specification, including central heating, double glazing and a kitchen with built-in oven, hob and hood. Selected housetypes have traditional sash or leaded-style windows.

Prices for the ‘Cresswell' design start at £249,995, while three-bedroom homes are available from £149,995. The four-bedroom ‘Bembridge' is priced from £239,995.

Customers can take advantage of George Wimpey's easymover programme, providing a range of incentives on selected properties for first-time buyers, while those with a house to sell can reserve their new home and then sit back and relax while the housebuilder finds a buyer for their current property - guaranteeing 100% of the market value - and pays the estate agency fees.

The Asbreys received assistance with their move and praised Seagrave Manor Sales Executive, Helen McGill, and Site Manager Kevin Rouse for their help.

"Nothing was too much hassle," explained John. "To me they are the ones who made moving so nice and easy."

Seagrave Manor is a brand new development of just 29 three and four-bedroom homes blending modern comforts with a vibrant village life and stunning countryside close by. Homes are within easy reach of local amenities, including a primary school, an arts college, shops, pubs and a parish church, while Wicksteed Park is also within easy reach.

Kettering is just over two miles from the development, where a wider choice of schools and leisure amenities can be found in addition to a direct, 65-minute rail link to London St Pancras. Commuters will also appreciate that the A14 is only a few minutes' drive from the development.

The Sales Centre and showhome at Seagrave Manor are located off Barton Road, Barton Seagrave and open seven days a week from 10.30am to 5.30pm. For more information, log on to Georgewimpey.co.uk.
