New homes are on the right track for commuters

13th February 2009 Print
New homes are on the right track for commuters With a new railway station set to open this spring, the time is right to invest in a new home at Corby in Northamptonshire. Services to London St Pancras will take just 65 minutes, putting homes at George Wimpey’s Appleton Gate development – only a mile from the new station – in high demand.

“Commuters and investors are grabbing the opportunity to secure a home at Appleton Gate now, before Corby’s new transport links and exciting town redevelopment push up property prices,” says Lynne Hartshorn, Sales and Marketing Director for George Wimpey East Midlands.

Home-buyers at Appleton Gate are already benefiting from the regeneration of the town centre, now home to the Willow Place shopping centre and with a 50m international swimming pool, health suite and dance studio set to open later in the year.

Additional shopping, leisure and cultural facilities are being created in the coming years, as well new schools, colleges and thousands of new jobs.

“With all this on the horizon and house prices set to increase, homes in Corby are a great long-term investment. As well as the superb range available at Appleton Gate, we also have a wide selection of properties for sale at our Poppyfields development in Corby and at South Wood in nearby Station village.” adds Lynne.

The four-bedroom ‘Citrine’, for example, is available at Appleton Gate for just £169,995 including carpets and kitchen appliances.

The ‘Citrine’ is an ideal home for families and those seeking a place with more space, comprising a light and airy entrance hallway which leads through double doors to a large lounge with French doors to the rear and side gardens. A well-proportioned kitchen and separate utility area, a dining room and a guest cloakroom complete the ground floor accommodation.

Upstairs the landing leads to a master bedroom with en-suite, three further well-proportioned bedrooms and a family bathroom.

Like all George Wimpey’s new homes in Corby, the property enjoys a high standard specification including gas central heating, double glazing and a fitted kitchen with built-in oven, hob and hood.

Three-bedroom homes and a choice of four-bedroom designs are also available at Appleton Gate, and at the Poppyfields and South Wood developments. Prices start at £129,995.

Customers reserving a home can take advantage of George Wimpey’s easymover programme, which provides a range of special incentives on selected properties for first-time buyers, while customers with a house to sell can reserve their new home and then sit back and relax while the housebuilder finds a buyer for their current property - guaranteeing 100% of the market value - and pays the estate agents’ fees.

In addition, the leading housebuilder’s House 2 Home bespoke moving package comprises free UK removal regardless of distance or size of property, full packing and unpacking service and insurance cover.

Appleton Gate and Poppyfields are located about a mile from Corby Station and within easy reach of Willow Place shopping centre, and the town’s good range of leisure facilities, public houses and restaurants, as well as schools for children of all ages. Closer still, a new pub/restaurant is strolling distance from the homes and a large supermarket is a short drive away.

South Wood in Stanion enjoys a village location just three miles from Corby and will be served by a new primary school, a square of shops and amenities, recreation areas, paths, cycleways and bus routes. It will also be in the catchment area for the new Business Academy at Priors Hall, Corby.

In addition to the soon-to-open station, commuters will appreciate Corby’s quick links to the A6003 and the A14 – providing easy links to the M6 and M1.

Appleton Gate Sales Centre can be found off Headway, Corby, open Thursday to Monday from 10.30am to 5.30pm.

Poppyfields Sales Centre is off Butland Way, Corby, open for information seven days, 10.30am to 5.30pm.
