Make that move to Corby

26th February 2009 Print
Make that move to Corby With energy efficient, quality-built properties at lower than ever prices and a choice of cash saving incentives, it could be just the right time for buyers to start afresh in a new home.

Tempting deals and competitive prices on a wide choice of properties available at Redrow @ Oakley Vale, in Corby, mean it’s never been a better time for buyers, according to award winning Redrow Homes.

Redrow customers also get access to a network of tried and trusted mortgage advisers, solicitors, estate agents and other property professionals who all want one thing – to help get you moving.

Mary Timlin, sales director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), says: “It’s a great time for homebuyers to take advantage of some generous financial incentives and secure themselves a new home that should also save them money on their fuel bills.

“With some excellent deals including mortgage subsidies, deposit matching, part exchange and the new Government backed HomeBuy Direct scheme it’s definitely a buyer’s market.”

HomeBuy Direct will see home owners benefiting from an interest-free equity loan of up to 30% of the property price, jointly funded by the Government and Redrow, and interest-free for the first five years.

Available to those with an annual household income less than £60,000, customers will own 100% of their home from day one – but only have to pay between 70 and 85% of the purchase price. They can start purchasing the remaining share in instalments after just 12 months and, because the Government and Redrow will share any equity depreciation as well any appreciation, in a falling market the scheme provides an extra cushion for the homeowner against negative equity.

The loan can cover between 15 and 30% of the purchase price and, after the five-year interest-free period, is subject to a gradually increasing fee. If a home owner sells their property before paying back the equity loan, it will be repaid from a share of the sale proceeds.

HomeBuy Direct will be available on a selection of Redrow’s three bedroom family homes at Oakley Vale and potential customers can register their interest now via Redrow’s website.

“Our ability to help in such a variety of ways definitely gives new homes the edge over the second hand market in the current climate,” adds Mary.

Buyers opting to purchase a new home over a second hand dwelling should save financially in the long run too. An older property might appear cheaper at first glance but renovating it to the same standards as a new-build could cost almost £30,000.

Mary adds: “Our new homes feature an up-to-the-minute specification, including quality fixtures and fittings, modern kitchens and bathrooms and well-known brand names. They’re also well insulated with full central heating, double glazed windows throughout and no need for costly renovation.

“Also at a time of rising energy prices, new homes have been shown to save people up to £556 per annum on their fuel costs*.”

Perfect for commuters, Redrow @ Oakley Vale offers easy access to the M1 and M6 as well as the A14, with links to the M1 and Cambridge. London is around one hour and 35 minutes away by train, while the main shopping areas of Milton Keynes and Northampton are both around half an hour’s drive from the development.

Corby itself offers a range of amenities such as shops and restaurants and just a few minutes from the town centre is beautiful woodland, with views across the Welland Valley and the surrounding countryside. Corby’s boating lake and the 200 square mile Rockingham Forest are also close by.

A range of three, four and five-bedroom homes are available at Redrow @ Oakley Vale, priced from £136,995 to £229,995.
