CIA Insurance encourages customers to carry out HPI Check

11th November 2008 Print

CIA Insurance is offering its customers a unique service – a direct link to HPI for a history check when buying any second-hand motorcycle.

CIA Insurance has joined up with HPI, whose database allows you to research the background of the machine you are planning on buying to check if it has outstanding finance, is registered as stolen, or has been written-off. The check also provides you with the vehicle description (as registered with the DVLA) and advice on how to buy a bike safely.

The HPI Check costs just £19.99 which is a small sum of money for peace of mind regarding your new machine.

CIA Insurance has chosen the HPI Check because it is established as the UK’s primary source of vehicle information on all road-registered vehicles, and offers one of the most comprehensive provenance checks available in the UK. With 1 in 10 bikes checked by HPI being written-off; 1 in 20 showing a plate change; and 1 in 22 having outstanding finance against it, it makes sense to know exactly what you’re buying, before you buy it.

HPI has long established relationships with data providers such as the Police, DVLA, Finance Companies, Association of British Insurers (ABI), Customs & Excise, Local Government and the Motor Trade and continues to be a pioneer in the vehicle provenance market.

CIA Insurance’s Director, Eliot Blundell said: “CIA Insurance wants to give its customers value for money and peace of mind when buying a second-hand motorcycle, the HPI Check will reveal if a machine has a hidden history.”
