Arena Business Centres to expand Poole site

Arena Business Centres has unveiled plans to expand its Poole based operation, offering local companies much needed additional quality, fully-serviced business premises on flexible terms. With planning permission granted by the Borough of Poole, leading contractors Mildren have been commissioned to commence works, which are set to be completed by March 2008, in time to celebrate Arena’s third birthday at the Holy Rood Close site.

Already attracting over 70 companies, the second phase of the Arena Business Centre in Poole will provide a further 15,000 square feet of business accommodation. The exciting expansion will offer an additional 16 offices and workshops, ranging from 600 to 1800 square feet, providing Poole and the surrounding areas with unique business space solutions.

Councillor Ron Parker, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Local Economy, commented: “Arena Business Centres’ success and expansion is brilliant news for the thriving Poole business community. The second phase development will provide much needed quality business premises for local companies of all sizes.”

Although planning permission has been granted, the appointed contractor, Mildren, will be carrying out soil samples from Monday 25 June, which need to be monitored for nine weeks before works can commence.

Offering professional business accommodation, combined with a unique business lifestyle and networking environment, space at Arena, Poole, has been in high demand since it opened in 2005. With offices accommodating between three and 40 people, in addition to workshops from 400 to 1000 square feet, Arena is able to tailor both the type of accommodation and licence terms to fit each company’s requirements with no up front capital investment.

Over 80 tenant companies are also located at the sister site in Ferndown and each of the Arena Business Centres currently occupies around two and a half acres. With 45,000 square feet (4,181 square metres) at the Ferndown site and 35,000 square feet (3,252 square metres) at Poole, set to rise to 50,000 square feet in total, the wide range and size of accommodation available is unique to Dorset.

Thanks to the success of the Arena Business Centres in Poole and Ferndown, the company is exploring other opportunities to expand its business within Dorset and Hampshire and is seeking suitable development land to purchase or business premises to refurbish.
