Magic number two

But, having settled into their new home, the Benson’s have recently opted for another move – into a five-bedroom townhouse at the same development.
Graeme says: “We had lived in a large house in South Africa and it was something we wanted to do again, so after getting settled in the apartment we had a look at the townhouses and loved them.
“We decided to move from Cape Town because of the better career prospects, financial security and generally better quality of life in England. It was a bit difficult to get used to the lifestyle over here at first, but now I’m starting to understand and enjoy it.”
Finding the right place to live couldn’t have been easier for the Bensons, as news of St Mary’s Park quite literally fell at their feet.
Graeme explains: “I had been looking at another Redrow development – The Boardwalk in Eastbourne – which I had seen advertised while at a job interview. After chatting and registering with the sales consultant there, we received a leaflet about St Mary’s Park through the door of the house we were renting and decided to give it a bash.
“In the end, I liked the sound of St Mary’s Park so much that I reserved the house off-plan over the telephone – I hadn’t even seen it! The actual move was a piece of cake.”
The young family set up home in the College Court apartment building at the development. Graeme, a sales executive with Chandlers BMW in Hailsham, met Natasha, a Chanel consultant in Tunbridge Wells, seven years ago in Cape Town. Since the move and the arrival of Ayden, their first child, the couple spend most of their time decorating their home, or walking around the local area, including Eastbourne Harbour.
Graeme says: “We’ve not really had a lot of time to ourselves yet and because of the weather, we’ve not got out much. A lot of our time is taken up with decorating and being with Ayden. As it starts to get warmer we’ll spend more time outdoors, and we’re hoping to explore Bodiam Castle soon.”
St Mary’s Park is a stylish development offering two, three, four and five-bedroom homes ready to fulfil the dreams of those looking for the perfect 21st century home. All of the apartments have now been sold, while only five townhouses remain to be snapped up.
Bexhill is a bustling, attractive seaside resort which has retained its air of charm and character. It has many attractions, both on its doorstep and further afield, including castles, a cinema and a museum.
The main train station in Bexhill gives a journey time of less than an hour to Brighton and approximately 90 minutes to London, making St Mary’s Park ideal for commuters heading for the capital.
Eastbourne, Brighton and Tunbridge Wells can also be reached via the regular bus services that run from the town centre and Gatwick airport is around an hour and a half away.
Prices for the remaining town houses at St Mary’s Park start at £235,000 for a three-bedroom home, to £255,000 for a four-bedroom home.
