One Redrow door shuts, a new one opens in East Sussex

A popular family development in Bexhill-on-Sea has sold its final home – but house hunters in the area can now look forward to housebuilder Redrow’s new schemes in the area. The last property at St.Mary’s Park is now officially off the market – but with two new developments in the pipeline in Hailsham and The Boardwalk still underway in Eastbourne, East Sussex hasn’t seen the last of Redrow.

The stylish Bexhill development was a hit with buyers looking for the perfect 21st century home, with its offering of three-, four- and five-bedroom homes close the charming town centre of Bexhill-on-sea and the seafront.

Redrow is pursuing new opportunities in Hailsham and is hoping to launch a new development off Battle Road early in the New Year. It will feature 146 homes, including two-bedroom apartments, two and three-bedroom terraced homes and townhouses, in addition to four-bedroom detached homes.

The 12-acre proposed development will include appealing features for homebuyers, such as a fully equipped children’s play area, a junior football area and a nature reserve.

Paul Moran, sales director for Redrow Homes (Southern) says: “We’re very pleased with the way sales have gone at St Mary’s Park and are looking forward to staying in the area with new developments in Hailsham. We plan to bring buyers in East Sussex more of the quality-built, attractive homes and first class locations that they are used to. ”

Subject to detailed planning consent from Wealdon District Council, Redrow aims to start building at Battle Road in early 2008 and will launch sales of the properties shortly after.

The company will also make a financial contribution towards road improvements, household waste recycling and the local library, bus and school services.

Redrow is also building The Boardwalk in Eastbourne, an award winning scheme of apartments. Situated in Sovereign Harbour, the stylish scheme offers buyers lavish sea or harbour views and contemporary living space, in one, two, and three-bedroom types, including 18 penthouses
