8th October 2007 Print
Explore Living is pleased to announce the launch of ‘Grand Ocean’, the charming restoration of the former grade II listed Grand Ocean Hotel on Longridge Avenue in Saltdean, just under 6 miles along the coast from Brighton city centre.

Once complete, ‘Grand Ocean’ will provide 279 one, two and three bedroom apartments and penthouses, many with sea views. There will be a number of different apartment types and configurations available, all built to Explore Living’s high standards of design, innovation, quality and fittings. As well as providing carefully refurbished apartments in the main building, Explore will be integrating a series of new build apartment blocks which will complement the existing building.

Contemporary, comfortable and spacious on the inside, in tribute to the style and heritage of the original site on the outside, there are apartments to suit everybody’s requirements at Grand Ocean. Features such as historic communal gardens, passenger lifts and underground parking add to the convenience and luxury lifestyle afforded by this prestige development. Prices at the development start from £219,995, for further information interested buyers should visit Grandocean.co.uk.

John Inglis, Sales and Marketing Director of Explore Living comments: “The apartments at Grand Ocean are highly sought after and are ideal for city executives, downsizers or investors looking to capitalise on the rising popularity of the area.”

The Grade II listed hotel was acquired by Butlins in 1953, and stayed in their ownership until Rank Leisure, their owners, took the decision to dispose of the chain in 1998.

True to its very special heritage, every aspect of Grand Ocean exudes quality – not just in the build specification, but in the very design too. All bedrooms capitalise on the use of natural light and master bedrooms feature fitted mirrored wardrobes. Hi-spec, ergonomic kitchens are cleverly designed to maximize storage space, including concealed sockets, deep work surfaces and a comprehensive range of integrated energy efficient appliances.

Each living area provides spacious and flexible living accommodation and have been designed for 21st century living with pre-wiring for sky+, HDTV and provision for a wall-mounted flat screen TV.

At Grand Ocean, you can escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life and enjoy the unique combination of tranquillity, stunning views, classical surroundings and high quality living. Located on the doorstep of the rolling Sussex Downs, with breathtaking views, quintessentially English villages and walks for all abilities, Grand Ocean is truly a peaceful and enjoyable environment in which to live.

In the other direction, the iconic white cliffs stand guard over the waves lapping on the beach, making for some excellent coastal walks. It’s hard to believe, then, that Brighton Marina with its fabulous shopping, eating and leisure facilities is just a short distance down the road. For commuters looking to travel further afield, regular services run from Brighton railway station into London Victoria in just under an hour.
