Ward Homes secures rural site for new homes near Uckfield
Kent developer Ward Homes has secured an 11-acre site close to the village of Five Ash Down, near Uckfield in East Sussex. Previously occupied by a Grampian Foods chicken factory, it had fallen into disrepair in recent years. With outline planning permission already granted, Ward Homes is currently in consultation with Wealdon District Council and Bucksted Parish Council to secure detailed planning permission. The company is hoping to start work in July.
The new development will comprise 140 traditional two, three, four and five-bedroom family homes.
Close to Five Ash Down village, off the A26 Uckfield-Crowborough Road, the new homes will enjoy a delightful rural position on the edge of Ash Down Forest, surrounded by open farmland. Uckfield, around three miles to the south, provides a wide range of amenities.
Nick Fenton, Managing Director of Ward Homes, comments: "It is rare to have the opportunity to secure a site in such an outstanding rural location, close to a large market town. We are looking forward to transforming this disused site into a high quality housing development that will enhance the area and benefit the local community."
