Off-plan success for movers in Eastbourne

Off-plan success for movers in Eastbourne Savvy movers Michael and Susan Boxall have taken advantage of today’s great prices to secure a brand new George Wimpey home – and are now living in a top-of-the-range caravan by the sea until their apartment is ready.

The couple have reserved a beautiful two-bedroom home off-plan at the leading house-builder’s Regency Park development in Eastbourne, but won’t complete their purchase for another 18 months.

“Regency Park ticked all the right boxes for us and the time gap between us selling our bungalow in Hailsham and moving to our new apartment has worked in our favour,” explains Michael (61).

“Although the bank rates are low, we’re earning interest on the money from the sale of our bungalow, and with no major outgoings we will have saved for some lovely extras for our home, such as integrated appliances in the kitchen, which George Wimpey will install before we move in.”

Michael, who was made redundant from his job as a store manager last year, and 55-year-old Susan, are spending the summer in their 37ft caravan at Rye Bay Caravan Park between Rye and Hastings, and may rent a property for the winter, while construction gets underway on their new apartment building.

“The apartment we have chosen will be four floors up and has a lovely outlook to the sea – and it’s only a short walk across Prince’s Park to the beach,” adds Michael, who now works three days a week taking caravans to be MOT tested. “We really like Eastbourne and particularly the seafront, which runs from Sovereign Harbour to Beachy Head and has the beautiful South Downs as its backdrop.

“We first saw the development when we were visiting Eastbourne from our old home in Hailsham, and popped in to get a brochure. After pondering it for a few weeks, we decided it was ideal.”

While Michael and Susan bought their home without having seen the apartments at Regency Park, customers can now take a look inside the new view home, which has just opened at the development.

The two-bedroom apartment is now open to visitors, and features a spacious living room with dining area opening through patio doors to a good-sized balcony looking out to the sea, a stylish fitted kitchen, two double bedrooms which also enjoy sea views, and a bathroom off the entrance hall.

Prices for the two-bedroom Penshurst House apartments start at just £134,995, and each benefits a fitted kitchen complete with integrated oven, hob and hood, central heating and double glazing, a lift to all floors and allocated parking.

Eastbourne, at the foot of the South Downs, boasts excellent lifestyle opportunities including two shopping centres, a range of individual seafront boutiques and the fashionable stores and restaurants at Sovereign Harbour, waterfront.

The town is famous for its award-winning parks and gardens, while those who enjoy an active lifestyle will appreciate the marina’s sailing facilities just minutes from the development, and a choice of nearby swimming pools and gyms.

A selection of local schools cater for children of all ages and abilities, while the area is well-served by public transport, with buses to the town centre every 10 minutes, and Hampden Park and Eastbourne Railway station close-by, providing services to London and Brighton.

To see the new view apartment and the range of three and four-bedroom homes available, visit Regency Park located off Wartling Road / Lottbridge Drove, Eastbourne and open from Thursday to Monday, 10am until 5pm, or log on to georgewimpey.co.uk.
