Cash in with a green home in Bridgnorth

Cash in with a green home in Bridgnorth The recent rises in energy bills have adversely affected us all and as these costs look set to continue, it comes as no surprise that we are now considering alternative, more efficient means of providing and utilising energy.

Fortunately at Wenlock Rise, Persimmon's development in Bridgnorth, buyers are able to reap financial and environmental benefits with a move into a brand new green home.

Persimmon is now offering Mitsubishi's Ecodan Heat Pump Boiler from its Finishing Touches range. More than three times as efficient as a conventional boiler and a natural choice for low cost heating and hot water, Ecodan Heat Pump Boiler provides domestic space heating and hot water resulting in a 30-50 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions.

Using proven heat pump technology widely used in the heating and cooling industry, Ecodan upgrades naturally occurring energy from the air and uses this to provide hot water and domestic space heating, such as underfloor heating and low temperature radiators which give a greater level of comfort.

The unit is simple to install, requiring only water and electric connections with no need for groundwork, external pumps, gas supply, flues or ventilation.

Anita Williams, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said: "We recognise that many of our buyers are environmentally aware and realise that the need to use sustainable energy in their homes is now greater than ever, which is why we are pleased that we are now able to offer the Ecodan system through our Finishing Touches range.

"According to Mitsubishi, by 2016, over 720,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per annum could be saved if all 200,000 residents moving into new properties built each year installed heat pumps. This represents a phenomenal saving and we are proud to be playing a part in helping conserve the environment for the benefit of future generations."

Independent testing on the Ecodan system has been carried out by the BRE - a world-leading testing, training and certification organisation specialising in the testing and certification of construction related products.
