Telford development exceeds expectations

31st March 2009 Print
Telford development exceeds expectations Business is building nicely at an ‘eco’ housing development in Ketley where over two thirds of the target sales for 2009 have already been achieved.

The Village by Bryant Homes is selling well, despite the so-called credit crunch - and it’s in no small part due to the fact that it’s one of only seven Millennium communities in the UK designed to demonstrate very best practice in social and environmental sustainability.

Sales & marketing director, Carol Edwards, explains: “The eco status of the homes and the green initiatives on site definitely appeal to buyers and they tell us and it means a lot that they’ll be doing their little bit for the environment.

“Every property at The Village has an EcoHomes ‘excellent’ rating and this will reduce metered energy consumption and mains water consumption by 20%, plus improve on daylighting and noise proofing by 10%. And increased circulation areas created by roomier living spaces, high insulation levels and low energy heating systems all contribute to the homes being substantially friendly to the environment, and should see further reduced living costs.

“The Village is also making a name for itself because residents are able to have their say on how the development is maintained through a pioneering community trust system, which places maintenance decisions in the hands of those who actually live there. There are even schemes in place at the development to encourage greener modes of transport.

“Despite the current trend, both visitor levels and sales here have been really encouraging - and we remain cautiously optimistic because the desire to buy a new build home is still there, plus more sustainable price levels and lowest ever interest rates give us confidence in the affordability of new homes now and for the future.”

Star buy at the moment has to be plot 44 in the new three bedroom mews Haygate style (just £139,995), which also included two allocated parking spaces. And Bryant Homes will even throw in 5% deposit paid to help you get a move on!

Other availability includes contemporary two bedroom apartments with parking from £104,995, three bedroom semi detached homes with two parking spaces from £144,995 and three bedroom semis with double garage from £147,995.
