Part-exchange weekend at The Forge

8th May 2009 Print
Part-exchange weekend at The Forge Home-owners sick of the sight of their ‘For Sale’ sign can now find an easier way to move – at George Wimpey’s special part-exchange event taking place at The Forge development in Lawley this Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May.

Between 11am and 5pm each day, the leading house-builder is helping customers beat the slowdown in the market by making new homes available in part-exchange for their existing property.

Daniel McGowan, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for George Wimpey, explains: “So many people are struggling to sell their current home – and without a buyer the chance of their offer being accepted on any new home is seriously affected.

“Our part-exchange scheme at The Forge means that people can choose a new home secure in the knowledge that their existing property won’t hold them back. It’s a simple way to gain peace of mind and to move in as little as a fortnight.”

Using the part-exchange scheme, George Wimpey gains an independent valuation of the customer’s current property and agrees a purchase price with them. With this arranged, they are free to move to an upmarket new home at The Forge.

Part-exchange deals will be available on selected four and five-bedroom homes over the weekend, with prices starting from £239,995.

These include the four-bedroom ‘Broseley’, a beautiful stone-finished home boasting a wealth of character. The L-shaped layout maximises light and offers garden views throughout much of the ground floor, which comprises a spacious kitchen/breakfast room with separate utility area, a lounge with French doors to the garden, a dining room and a cloakroom.

Upstairs, the landing leads to four bedrooms – two with en-suite facilities – and a main bathroom.

The five-bedroom ‘Edgmond’, priced from £249,995 and also available under part-exchange is characterised by a large kitchen/breakfast room with separate utility area, a large lounge opening through French doors to the garden, and a dining room.

Upstairs, the landing leads to three bedrooms – one with en-suite facilities – and a family bathroom, while on the top floor, the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a further double bedroom and a study can be found.

Like all new homes at The Forge, the properties available using part-exchange enjoy a high standard specification including low-energy boilers for water and central heating, high levels of insulation, double glazing and fitted kitchen with built-in oven, hob and hood.

The Forge is part of Ironstone, a brand new sustainable village community at Lawley, within easy reach of Telford and the beautiful Shropshire countryside and comprising four distinct neighbourhoods, a bustling social hub, classical architecture and open spaces.

The community has also been carefully designed to integrate a range of new facilities, including its own central square with designer shops, trendy wine bars and eateries, a mixed-use village centre and a primary school, as well as a wide choice of affordable homes.

For commuters, the village is well-served by existing and new public transport links and the M54 and M6 are a short drive away.

Telford – the largest town in Shropshire – lies less than three miles from the development and is home to a vast array of leisure opportunities, including a large shopping centre and the accompanying town park, a large cinema, bars, cafes, restaurants and a vibrant nightlife.

To take advantage of the part-exchange deals, visit The Forge Sales Centre, located off Arlestone Lane, Lawley, and open this Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th from 11am to 5pm.
