Couple end selling woes with George Wimpey

Couple end selling woes with George Wimpey After having their house on the market on and off for two years, Paul and Lynn Boulonois decided enough was enough – the time was right for them to get on and make their move.

And thanks to George Wimpey’s Easymover scheme at the Castleford development in Market Drayton, they gained assistance in selling their old home – and a buyer was found in just 10 days.

“We really liked the four-bedroom ‘Fairfield’ house at Castleford, and when one became available with extras such as carpets, tiling, a fireplace and a fitted kitchen, we decided this was the home for us,” says Paul.

“Having two young children, Amy (7) and Katy (2), we also liked the idea of moving to a ready-made home, and because the fittings were included in the price and George Wimpey paid our stamp duty and estate agent’s fees, there weren’t any ‘hidden’ costs to consider.”

Paul (43), an Assistant General Manager for At Seat Catering, which provides refreshments for passengers travelling with Arriva Trains Wales, says their move to a new property just a few hundred yards from their former home is designed to be ‘future-proof’, giving them space for Amy and Katy as they grow up.

“With three women in the house, our old home – which was built in the 1980s and has four bedrooms but only one bathroom – wouldn’t have been an easy place,” adds Paul. “Now we have two en-suites and a family bathroom, which will make life a lot happier in the years to come!”

The three-storey ‘Fairfield’ housetype they chose is ideal for growing families, and features a spacious kitchen/breakfast room with French doors to the garden, a utility room, a dining/family room, a large lounge with doors to the garden and a cloakroom off the entrance hallway. There is also a study on the first floor.

Paul and Lynn’s home benefits from a large garden, and its position in a quiet cul-de-sac on the development is bordered by open countryside.

“I would very much recommend Castleford to people who are looking for a new home,” adds Paul, who travelled all over the world in his former career with the RAF. “After all, we wouldn’t have moved here if it didn’t tick so many of the right boxes!”

Customers can currently choose from a selection of homes at the development, including two-bedroom apartments priced from £142,500, three-bedroom houses from £152,500 and four-bedroom designs from £199,995.

Castleford enjoys a semi-rural location less than a mile from Market Drayton town centre, home to a lively street market and a variety of small and large independent shops, restaurants, pubs and cafés.

Running close to the town centre, the charming 66-mile Shropshire Union Canal is a popular stopping-off point for boaters – the perfect setting for scenic walks.

Commuters will appreciate that the A53 is a few minutes’ drive from the development and junction 15 of the M6 is 20 minutes away by car. The nearest train station is Prees which links to Birmingham via Shrewsbury.

George Wimpey provides a range of deals tailor-made for all types of buyers, and for those with a property to sell, the leading housebuilder’s ‘easymover’ programme offers a range of attractive incentives on selected properties.
