Affordable homes on offer at exciting new development

First-time buyers flocked to The Square, David Wilson Homes’ exciting new development in Newport, Gwent, over the Easter weekend to learn more about special deals for people new to the property market.

“We held a First-Time Buyer Weekend on Easter Saturday and Sunday and it was very successful,” reports Bernice McKenna, sales director of David Wilson. “People took advantage of the holiday period to come and view the exciting homes on offer and find out about our shared equity schemes.

“These include Dream Start. With this scheme, first-time buyers only need to secure a mortgage for 75 per cent of the asking price and there is no deposit. The other 25 per cent is covered by David Wilson Homes and repayable interest free, either within 10 years or on the resale of the property.

“We’ve successfully helped a number of first time buyers get onto the property ladder with the Dream Start scheme. It’s a great incentive for people eager to buy their first home, particularly in the current credit crunch,” Bernice added. “People who reserved over the Easter weekend will be settled in their new properties by June, in time for the summer.”

Set in the heart of Newport, The Square offers a selection of one and two-bedroom apartments and two and three-bedroom houses. Current availability includes a one-bedroom coach house priced at £100,950 and two-bedroom apartments priced from £115,500. Three-bedroom houses are also available and prices start from £160,500.

“We are committed to providing affordable homes for people who thought it would be impossible to buy in today’s economic climate, and our shared equity scheme applies to houses as well as apartments,” Bernice added.

The Square is just a short walk away from Newport town centre, which boasts a wealth of amenities and a popular nightlife. There is easy road access to the Brecon Beacons National Park and the cities of Cardiff, Bristol and London.
