Redrow unveils ‘tasty’ show home in Newport Michelin starred chef James Sommerin warmed up for his Great Welsh Restaurant Taster session at the Abergavenny Food Festival this weekend by helping award winning Redrow to launch its ‘tasty’ new show home at Croesonnen Court.

The executive chef at The Crown restaurants at Whitebrook, near Monmouth and the Celtic Manor, in Newport, showed off his cookery skills in the ‘Rhosgwyn’ style show home’s fantastic new kitchen.

Redrow, meanwhile, showed off its contemporary new specification, the quality of its fixtures and fittings and the creative flair of its interior designers.

James hosted a series of bite-size demonstrations and tastings at Croesonnen Court as a curtain raiser to the Abergavenny Food Festival, which takes place this weekend (Sep 19 / 20) and has been sponsored by Redrow.

The crowds may have been smaller than the many thousands expected in Abergavenny this weekend, but the menu was no less impressive and dozens of hungry home buyers were wowed by Redrow’s new show home.

Debby Pavitt, sales director for Redrow Homes (South Wales), said: “James’ cookery demonstrations were an excellent way to launch our new show home and really allowed us to show off the potential of our homes for entertaining. He also helped us show everyone that our beautiful new kitchens are practical as well as looking good.”

Whilst James tickled visitors’ taste buds with some of his trademark fish and shell fish specialities, including such delicacies as langoustines and lobster, Redrow unveiled its tasty new offering – the Rhosgwyn show home.

This property style is the largest featured at Croesonnen Court and boasts almost 2,000 sq ft of sumptuous living space, including five bedrooms, three bathrooms and a study. The principal bedroom has a spacious walk-in wardrobe as well as an en-suite.

It displays Redrow’s new-look interior specification throughout, including its emphasis on more convivial open-plan living, which is great for entertaining.

The show home has been dressed as a classical family home with a contemporary twist to reflect the discerning tastes of the likely purchaser. It displays a colour palette of ivory, mink and bronze, accented with purple tones, and exudes quality from its traditional damask and ‘toile de Jouy’ wallpapers to silk curtains and ivory antique-style curtain poles with decadent trimmed tie backs.

Debby added: “Visitors were full of compliments about the look and feel of our new show home and we even had some customers inspired to sign-up to buy a home of their own.”

Those who did – and anyone tempted to reserve a property before the end of the Abergavenny Food Festival – can look forward to enjoying a ‘Chef for a Day’ experience for two people at the multi award winning Crown at Whitebrook; offering an insight into life in a busy professional kitchen, a tutored wine sampling, eight course tasting menu with accompanying wines, and an overnight stay.

For those whose appetites have been whetted by Redrow’s new show home, a choice of four and five-bedroom detached homes is currently available from £299,995 to £364,995.

The Rhosgwyn at Croesonnen Court is open Friday to Tuesday inclusive from 10am to 5.30pm; savour it now and sample other homes on Redrow’s impressive menu. Alternatively, log on to redrow.co.uk for more information.
