With property investment more popular than ever, it’s no wonder that many would like a piece of the action. But novices interested in branching out into buy-to-let often don’t know where to start – which is where Redrow’s investor weekend comes in.

By teaming up with a local letting agency, as well as independent financial advisors, the house builder is providing those tempted by property investment with a comprehensive introduction to becoming a buy-to-let landlord.

Julie Rayner, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire) says: “We’ve seen an increase in the number of people interested in buying an apartment at West 12 as an investment, but it became clear to us that many of those thinking about buying-to-let who were new to property investment weren’t totally confident about where to start.

“Our event will bring together experts from different fields – finance, letting and ourselves as the developers – who can offer invaluable advice to novice investors that isn’t easy to find free of charge elsewhere. And of course potential purchasers can take a look around West 12 itself, where we have a stylish show apartment available to view.”

Being held from 12 - 4pm each day, refreshments will also be available alongside the expert advice. From financial concerns such as how to go about re-mortgaging your existing home to finance an investment, to the ins-and-outs of the letting industry – for example, letting insurance, bonds and finding tenants – plenty of information will be on offer.

And with West 12 as the setting, would-be buyers have a range of slick and stylish apartments ready and waiting to choose from.

Julie adds: “More than 50% of the apartments have now been sold, which means that savvy investors are getting in now while there is still a good selection of properties to choose from. Buying off-plan also has many advantages for investors, including getting the pick of the plots and choosing your finish. This event is a great introduction to both the world of property investment and West 12.”

A range of two-bedroom apartments are currently available at the development, with prices ranging from £126,995 to £159,995. Located in Wortley, West 12 is well suited to young professionals as it is just two miles away from the vibrant city centre of Leeds - the perfect location for those who seek the hustle and bustle of city life but don’t want to be based right in the hub.

It is also well placed for commuter links - great train links and proximity to the M621 and M1 motorways provide easy access to Manchester, Liverpool and the rest of the UK. Leeds Bradford International airport is approximately six miles away.

Redrow’s property investor event is taking place the weekend 21/22 April and all are welcome. More information is available online at redrow.co.uk.
