The Arboretum in Northowram, Halifax Are you twenty or thirty-something and still living with your parents? Fed up with still not having the freedom of a home of your own while other friends your age may have already made that first step onto the property ladder? Perhaps you are longing to stop wasting money renting a property but you just haven’t been able to find a home that you can afford? If this all sounds a bit too familiar, you need to be talking to Persimmon Homes.

The leading home builder is urging first time buyers to take a look at its range of one and two bedroom apartments at The Arboretum in Northowram, Halifax and Moorland Heights in Ripponden which, following the launch of the company’s Capital Plan mortgage product which increases purchasers’ borrowing capacity, have just become even more affordable.

Take for example a two bedroom apartment at Moorland Heights which is priced at £129,995. With Persimmon’s offer of five per cent deposit paid, worth £6,500, combined with the Capital Plan mortgage, monthly mortgage payments total just £588.88 – a comparable, conventional mortgage could cost borrowers an extra £161.19 per month.

Alternatively on a one bedroom apartment at The Arboretum, priced at £134,995, which is available with five per cent deposit paid worth £6,750, borrowers will pay £611.34 per month with the Capital Plan mortgage - £167.40 less than a comparable, conventional product.

What’s more, for all completions before the end of June, Persimmon will offer apartments with fully fitted carpets throughout.

“A recent survey showed that over 50 per cent of prospective first time buyers are willing to give up holidays and alcohol to help them afford their first home,” commented Sue Merritt, sales director for Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire. She continues: “We don’t want our purchasers to have to sacrifice their leisure and social life in order to own their first home, which is why alongside affordable prices we offer a range of tailor made deals for first time buyers to ensure they can choose a home which they can afford and most importantly enjoy to the full.”
