The ultimate first time buyer package

The Canterbury - currently available with an amazing package of incentives - at Oak Glen There can be a lot of extra expense when buying your first home – 5% deposit to find, legal fees to pay and stamp duty, not to mention essentials such as carpets, curtains, lighting, fridge-freezer and a washing machine. So how does the whole lot for a reservation fee of £99 sound?

For that’s the proposition being put forward by award-winning house builder Redrow, who is holding a special First Time Buyer weekend this Saturday and Sunday (26/27 May) in Gilstead, near Bingley, aimed at those who are itching to get on the property ladder, but just can’t afford the set up costs.

Julie Rayner, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), says: “Buying a home seems an impossible dream for many young people, who find it a real struggle to save up enough money in the face of ever-rising house prices. By holding this First Time Buyer weekend at our Oak Glen development in Gilstead, we hope to make this dream a reality with our amazing start-up package.”

Would-be buyers who attend the event are in for a treat – as Redrow’s special offer will allow eager first-timers to pick up the keys to a dream two-bedroom Canterbury for an initial reservation fee of just £99.

Julie continues: “The package of incentives we’re offering with the Canterbury really does include everything you need to leap onto the ladder. We’ll take care of the 5% deposit, stamp duty and £500 toward legal fees, covering most of the up-front financial costs. We’ll also arrange access to a professional mortgage adviser. Finally, by including carpets, curtains, a lighting package, washing machine and freestanding fridge-freezer, all the lucky buyer needs to do is move in!”

But those interested will have to move quickly, as this fantastic deal is only available on three Canterbury homes, priced at £159,995

Opening with a hallway, this desirable property comprises a spacious living and dining area with double patio doors leading to the rear garden, separate fitted kitchen with stainless steel oven, hob and cooker hood, cloakroom and under-stairs storage on the ground floor. Upstairs are the two double bedrooms and bathroom.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to check out the Canterbury in all its glory, as a show home is available to view at the development.

“Our First Time Buyer weekend should be a must-visit for everyone who is desperate to own their own home. An independent financial adviser, along with our sales consultants, will be on hand with advice throughout the weekend and to help get the ball rolling on this rare chance to move in without all the associated costs. Considering the savings to be had, we’re expecting the trio of homes to be snapped up straight away,” adds Julie.

Oak Glen itself is in a great location for young professionals and couples, with Bradford city centre just a short drive away, as well as being less than 20 miles from Leeds, which is easily accessible via Junction 27 of the M62, linking to the M621.

Redrow’s First Time Buyer weekend is being held at Oak Glen, off Warren Lane, Gilstead, on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th May, between 12pm and 4pm each day. To find out more about both the event and the development itself, visit redrow.co.uk.
