Miller homes – Right on par!

The organisers Paul Worthington and Richard Gough both surveyors based at the company’s Yorkshire head office in Wakefield, managed to raise a staggering £12,500 in just one day.

“Our first planned date unfortunately got cancelled due to the bad weather, we re-scheduled for Tuesday 26th June which turned out to be the day after the horrendous rainfall across Yorkshire and surprisingly it wasn’t called off. We actually managed to play with a few outbreaks of sunshine!” said Paul.

“Everyone had a really good day and thanks to Yorkshire County Cricket Club and the Leeds Rhino’s we managed to increase the amount of money raised with an auction of a signed cricket bat, ball and shirt and a Rugby shirt and ball,” continued Paul.

Each year Paul and Richard choose different charities for the proceeds of the Golf Day. Paul continued: “This year my charity is the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Richard’s charity is Breast Cancer Research, our lives have both been effected by these conditions so we thought what better way to show our appreciation for such worthwhile charities than to raise money. We are really pleased with raising over £12,000 and with Miller Homes kindly covering all expenses both charities will be shortly receiving a cheque for over £6,000 each.”

Paul and Richard also personally thank all their sub-contractors and suppliers that have made it possible to support a number of charities over the years which have previously included the NSPCC.
