Miller Homes Yorkshire has been awarded the coveted Merit Award by the NSPCC thanks to the housebuilder’s tireless fundraising for the children’s charity. The staff at Miller Homes’ Yorkshire office in Wakefield have participated in a number of events to raise money for the NSPCC including holding a spectacular sporting dinner and annual Golf Days.

Over the six years the company has been supporting the charity, Miller has managed to raise on average £6,000 each year.

Katie Bland, corporate fundraising manager for the NSPCC said: “This is an important award given to Miller Homes in recognition of their efforts and significant support and fundraising they have done in Yorkshire for the NSPCC over a number of years.

“It is quite rare for companies to receive this award and only a handful throughout the country have managed to achieve it.”

Neil Reaney, customer services manager and event organiser commented: “We are really proud to receive this award, it means so much that our efforts are going towards safeguarding local children. We obviously don’t do the fundraising to receive awards although it is nice to see our efforts have been greatly appreciated whilst at the same time helping such a worthwhile cause.”

Katie continues: “All the money raised will help support vulnerable children in the region, which include the NSPCC’s Family Support Service in Leeds and the ChildLine Leeds base. It also helps to operate the NSPCC Child Protection Helpline which provides free advice, counselling and information to children and young people, and anyone who thinks that a child may be at risk. None of the services and projects would be possible without the continued generosity of donors, fundraisers and supporters like Miller Homes Yorkshire.”
