Miller Homes supports bikes on the beat

Residents of the Millennium Community in Allerton Bywater will be seeing more of its Police Community Support Officers in the near future thanks to the sponsorship of their bicycles by Miller Homes.

The two PCSO’s, John Whitworth and David Warns have been pounding their beat on foot, although found the area to be too large. Garforth Community Police Inspector Elizabeth Belton said: “The area that the two PCSO’s cover is quite large and would often take them 40 minutes to get to their starting point. By having the bicycles they can cut that time down to just 15 minutes, which means they can be more accessible and visible amongst their communities.

“The sponsorship from businesses such as Miller Homes is very important for us to continue to provide our communities with an exceptional level of reassurance and protection.”
