Homes of the future with values of the past

Homes of the future with values of the past Do you remember fondue parties, playing Kerplunk with the family or an evening of cards with friends? One family-owned housebuilder is encouraging us all to bring back traditional values and use our homes for more than just a place to put our head at night!

Miller Homes is imploring us to use our properties how they should be...as a home! Jan Hanaby, regional sales manager for Miller Homes Yorkshire said: “I think over the years buyers have often thought of their property purchase as an investment and not necessarily a home. But now we are spending more time in our home, and quite often, looking for alternative forms of entertainment, why not get back to basics and look at the traditional values of family life and entertain in our homes?

“When we design our detached properties we have these values in mind, they are built in ways that make home entertainment easy. Most have a separate dining room and some benefit from a ‘spare’ room which could be quite easily turned into a play or games room.”

One detached house, designed with family life in mind, is the Nith at the superb Fairfield Manor development in Wakefield. The Nith, priced from £320,000, is a distinguished dwelling of enormous charm and personality. From the interesting pentagonal ground-floor lounge, to the twin dormer-windowed bedrooms, it is filled with innovative and attractive features. The substantial kitchen boasts a family area and a separate utility room, whilst the lounge features French windows allowing access to the garden.

On the first floor, the master bedroom suite, with its windows to the front and rear allows light to cascade into the room. It is complemented by a second en-suite bedroom that could be used to create a luxurious guest accommodation as well as the study room. The second floor encompasses bedrooms three and four with their feature dormer windows and the family bathroom.

Jan continued: “With over 75 years building experience we know what makes a house a home. We also know that prices of new homes are lower than they have been for some years making buying a detached home much more affordable which may surprise some potential purchasers. So is there a better time to start a fresh in a brand new detached home and return back to the traditional values of home life? I wouldn’t say so!”

Fairfield Manor is a beautiful new neighbourhood of the finest quality houses and apartments. It is positioned around a focal point in the style of a village green. This peaceful retreat is perfectly situated just half a mile from the lively centre of Wakefield. It also has easy access to the M1 and M62, making it an ideal base for commuting.
