First time buyers find perfect home in Birkby

Emily Kenny and Cyrus Dennis have just become the first residents to move to George Wimpey’s Central Square development into a brand new Stokesley townhouse.
As the couple were the first in line for a new home at Central Square, they were given the pick of the plots and are delighted with their new home.
“Cyrus and I have been together for eight years and for the past couple of years we have been looking for the perfect home while saving as much as we can. We were going to buy last year at when house prices where more expensive but decided to save that bit longer - the current climate has meant that our savings have gone a lot further and we can afford a lot more house for our money.”
Emily and Cyrus moved into a three bedroom, three storey Stokesley home which has a bedroom and family room on the ground floor, a spacious living room and kitchen on the first floor, and the master bedroom with en-suite along with the third bedroom and family bathroom on the top floor.
“We liked the kitchen and living room being on the same floor, which is unusual for a three storey home. We also liked the extra family room and bedroom on the ground floor which will be ideal for when we start a family.”
Emily continued: “Cyrus works from home a lot of the time so we have converted the ground floor bedroom into a study for now. The location is ideal as the development is close to the M62, so whenever Cyrus does need to go into the office in Harrogate it’s a short journey. I work in Huddersfield which is just a five minute drive into the centre.”
The couple also found that moving into a new build has suited them perfectly. Emily said, “We had also been looking at older properties but realised that we would need to spend a lot more money to renovate them to our liking. Moving into a new build has reduced the stress of moving and the worry of money; we had nothing more to spend on the property than personalising it with decoration.”
The couple had the advantage of choosing an upgraded plot next to the showhome which was carpeted and painted throughout.
Emily and Cyrus also took advantage of another package at the development to help them with their deposit: “Unfortunately we didn’t have the 20% deposit needed to secure the home so we put down 15% of the deposit and George Wimpey gave us a further 5%, which has helped a lot.”
And it looks like it won’t be long before Emily and Cyrus are not the only residents at Central Square, with new neighbours moving in over the next couple of months.
Emily commented: “The sales executive and site manager at the development have been extremely helpful. We’ve had such a great experience with George Wimpey, a few of our friends are now interested in buying a home here.”
For homeseekers wishing to see what a finished Central Square home looks like and to gain some inspiration, there are two showhomes at the development including a Stokesley and a Sloane. Prices for a Sloane townhouse start from £159,995, while a Stokesley starts from £164,995.
George Wimpey have just released a selection of three bedroom townhouses around the central green at the development due to high demand with prices starting from £164,995.
