Young professionals gravitate towards Grantham

SETTLING IN: April and Paul relax in their new kitchen The promise of a low maintenance lifestyle is making the apartments at Redrow’s Grantham development irresistible to young professionals.

Paul, 36, works as a sales representative for a Nottingham firm and April, 28, is a staff nurse at Grantham Hospital. They both grew up in Grantham but Paul has recently moved back to the area having worked in the London area.

Paul said: “We did some research in the local papers when we were first looking for a home, but inside our budget there wasn’t really anything that tempted us. The houses were either in bad condition or in bad areas.

“When we went to visit Newton’s Walk, we discovered that one of the apartments would be ideal for us. For a two-bedroom apartment, it’s very spacious and both the kitchen and living area have a roomy feel.

“It will be great to be able to invite our friends and family over to a place we are proud of.” Paul and April were as impressed by the location of the development as they were by the apartments themselves.

Paul added: “We didn’t want a place right in the centre of town, but we wanted to be within walking distance. It takes about 10 minutes to walk into town from Newton’s Walk, which is ideal.”

“The location is also perfect for me as it has terrific access to the road network. For work I’m largely based at home but I drive all over the Midlands.

Catherine Cloke, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (East Midlands) said: “It is easy to see why the apartments at Newton’s Walk appeal to busy young professionals. They are stylish, low maintenance homes that will require little or no upgrading or maintenance.”

Paul and April’s apartment features a master bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a second bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen/dining space and large living room area.

Currently available at Newton’s Walk is a selection of two-bedroom apartments, with prices for a two-bedroom Avon apartment starting below the stamp duty threshold at just £110,950.

An Argal apartment similar to Paul and April’s starts at just £124,950.

A selection of three and four-bedroom family-friendly homes is also available, with prices for a three-bedroom Fairwood starting at just £140,950.
