The benches will provide an ideal sitting area in the “peaceful” section of the garden in Wellington Street, which is used by the local residents and provides a scenic backdrop for the Your Place community centre.

The garden, established in 2005, was originally wasteland reclaimed by the charity and with the help of the locals, it was transformed into a beautiful, blooming garden with a children’s playground and meeting area - perfect for catching up with both friends and neighbours.

Christine Taylor, project co-ordinator for Your Place, says: “We are so grateful with Redrow’s offer to support our charity. The garden has helped bring the local community together, and the donation of the two lovely benches has only made the grounds a more enjoyable area to congregate in.”

The Your Place charity was established in 2001 and provides support to the local community from their base in Wellington Street. They offer a range of services such as toddler groups, Royal British Legion advice, a weekly Citizens Advice Bureau drop in session, a police surgery, a hobbies group and community safety meeting.

Sue Lambert, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), who are building at Scartho, in Grimsby, adds: “Redrow is happy to support a local charity that does so much good work for the community. More than just a housebuilder we like to get involved in and support the communities in which we build, and we are delighted to see our donation of the benches being put to good use in such beautiful surroundings.”

Redrow’s Kirk’s Paddock development at Scartho Park also enjoys some plush surroundings and plenty of greenery. Offering an impressive range of two, three and four- bedroom homes ideally located two miles from Grimsby city centre, it is sure to have something for every eager house hunter.
