Rhian and Luke already feel at home at Roman’s Gate We all know how daunting stepping onto the property ladder for the first time is, with legal jargon to wade through, having to organise a mortgage and dealing with other financial outlays to name but a few of the intimidating processes purchasers have to consider. But thanks to Persimmon Homes East Midlands, buying your first home need not be so overwhelming as Persimmon’s team is on hand at each of the company’s developments, assisting first timers in making that all important first step.

Luke Cann (23) and his partner Rhian Shale (22) is one such couple who have found their dream first home at Persimmon’s Romans Gate development in Ancaster. Rhian comments: “We weren’t even thinking of moving in together, but Luke drives past Romans Gate on his way to work, and we both really liked the look of the development and where it was located, so we went and had a look.

“Through speaking to the sales advisers on site, we found the perfect house for us, a four bedroom three storey Harlech design, we didn’t even look anywhere else, as we knew this was the home for us.”

Luke adds: “We never considered as first time buyers that we’d be able to afford a four bedroom home, but it was very reasonably priced as Persimmon also paid the five per cent deposit. We’ve turned one of the spare bedrooms into a home office, another into a guest bedroom and the fourth bedroom is now Rhian’s dressing room.”

Luke and Rhian sang the praises of Persimmon’s sales advisers. Rhian continues: “We couldn’t fault the sales team, moving into our first home was a lot less intimidating that we thought it would be, especially when they offered us Finishing Touches vouchers, which we were able to buy all our curtains with.”

Steve Matthews, sales director for Persimmon Homes East Midlands, states: “Townhouse living isn’t just available for those moving up the property ladder, many of our designs are priced to allow a wide variety of purchasers to consider this housetype, no matter what their budget.”

Romans Gate is ideal for young couples like Luke and Rhian as well as families and those looking to downsize, as there are no through roads offering a quiet and tranquil place to live.

Luke and Rhian are among several househunters attracted to the pretty village location of Ancaster with its pleasant surroundings and several local amenities on offer. Add to this its close proximity to Grantham, Sleaford and Newark and Roman’s Gate is a very attractive proposition.
