New homes at a price you can afford

8th June 2009 Print
New homes at a price you can afford With only a 70 per cent mortgage needed and no deposit required – a new dream home could be closer to achieving than you think. Stamford Homes is currently offering the Government’s HomeBuy Direct shared equity scheme on its two-bedroom apartments at the Water’s Edge development at Scunthorpe.

The innovative scheme offers eligible customers the chance to own 100 per cent of their home for 70 per cent of the price.

In simple terms, the Government and Stamford Homes will each provide up to 15 per cent of the shared equity, with the balance being mortgageable through many major lenders – and with the possibility of no deposit to pay.

The loan can then be repaid interest free for the first five years, and then at a low repayment rate thereafter.

The apartments at the popular Scunthorpe development are due for completion in Spring 2010, but a reservation now will secure the new home at its current price - which starts from £108,000 for a two-bedroom ground floor apartment with parking.

Offering chic and stylish open-plan living, Stamford Homes has perfected apartment living in recent years.

Stamford Homes regional sales and marketing director Peter Bond, said: “It’s fantastic that we are able to provide this scheme on a selection of our two bedroom apartments at Scunthorpe, at also at other homes across the developments in our region.

“We have already seen a number of reservations through the HomeBuy Direct scheme, which gives first time buyers and key workers the opportunity select the home of their dreams at a price they can afford.”

The sales and marketing suite is open from Thursday to Monday from 10.30am until 5pm.
