Friends become neighbours at Lancaster Gardens

After finding the perfect family home at the development, purchasers James and Charlotte Long couldn’t wait to recommend Lancaster Gardens to best friend Adam Battersby and his family.
James Long along with wife Charlotte, son Matthew (17) and daughter Imogen (21 months), found that with an expanding family their previous three-bedroom house was simply not big enough for their needs and the couple found the perfect place to call home at Lancaster Gardens.
Charlotte explained, “We had been looking to move for several years, in fact we sold our old home three years ago but unfortunately the sale fell through and with the housing market the way it is we had been unable to find another buyer. After waiting so long to move to our dream home, we really didn’t want to have to experience another chain, so we decided that taking advantage of a part-exchange scheme would be the best option for us.”
James continued, “We were looking for homes which were in a village location, close to where we already lived and although we viewed many different properties, Lancaster Gardens was the only development which had everything we wanted. Plus we were able to use David Wilson’s part-exchange scheme which was a real bonus for us.
“We found the part-exchange scheme to be really straight forward and we were able to move into the new home very quickly which was great after we had waited over three years to move! In fact we were so impressed with the development and the service that we recommended it to Adam and Jacqueline who we knew were also looking for a new family home.”
Adam Battersby (33), wife Jacqueline (29) and daughter Iris (six months) who previously lived in Lincoln were also looking to move out of their three-bedroom terrace property to a larger home and after a chance phone call to James, found their perfect home at Lancaster Gardens, next door to James and Charlotte.
Adam said, “We had been looking to move home before Iris was born, but in the later stages of Jacqueline’s pregnancy we stopped looking. However after Iris came along we just knew that we wanted to move to a larger home, so we began the search again. We were actually on our way to look at another new home development near to Witham St Hughes and were arranging to visit James and Charlotte on the way home, when James, half jokingly, suggested that we take a look at the property next door to theirs.
“We decided to take a look at the property and immediately fell in love; it was exactly what were looking for.”
Jacqueline commented, “Our old home was in a city location we wanted to move to somewhere quieter. Although Adam would quite happily live in the middle of nowhere, I like to have the convenience of shops and amenities nearby. Lancaster Gardens was therefore, the ideal compromise as it is in a quiet, rural location, whilst still being within easy reach of Lincoln town centre.
“We also took advantage of David Wilson’s part-exchange scheme which was ideal not only because it was a less stressful way to move home, which was what we needed with iris being so young. But its also gave us some security knowing that the house was ours and that the sale wouldn’t fall through at the last minute.”
Adam continued, “James and I go back a long way, we were even the best man at each others’ weddings, so it is great to live next door to each other, particularly as Jacqueline and I are not from the area. Plus it is always useful to have someone to water the garden when you’re away!”
James Poynor, Sales Director for David Wilson North Midlands commented, “Buying a home is one of the most significant purchases anyone can make and it can sometimes be a very daunting prospect, so what better recommendation than that from a friend.
“Having good neighbours is so important to any community, particularly new homes which have often been built in a completely new area. Therefore, it is fantastic to see that these two families have found the perfect neighbours and I’m sure this will be the start of friendly new community at Lancaster Gardens.”
David Wilson North Midlands recently scored top marks in this year’s Home Builders Federation customer satisfaction survey. The company is rated as a five star builder in the annual survey, in which more than 20,000 new homebuyers nationwide took part.
